The Art of Working #

Purpose: I want to document the technique of how to work efficiently, which may help you grow even faster in life. Personally, it worked for me, so I hope it is useful to you too.
Technique: First of all, there is no perfect plan to work. All you need to do is focus on what your ultimate goal is.
Before starting work, make sure your environment is quiet, with good and encouraging people around you, and make sure you stay focused. It will boost your performance. (This is just a tip, not mandatory.)
Phase 1: Divide Your Work #
First, you need to divide your work. Whatever task you have, whether big or small, make sure you divide the work based on your requirements.
Example: You need to prepare chicken curry. For that, take time and first think about the process, making sure that planning doesn’t take too long. After thinking, divide the work like:
- Go outside and bring the ingredients.
- Get the utensils ready.
- Chop the vegetables or marinate the chicken.
- Keep all things nearby.
- Then light the stove and cook the food.
Phase 2: Execution & Adaptability #
This is the most important phase. Here, you plan everything and start executing according to the plan, but things will not always go as you decided. So, here you need to stay and maintain strong focus.
Another point is that plans will change 100% of the time. Don’t worry, it always happens. If everything goes strictly as planned, either you have god-level expertise or it happened by luck. So, get ready to adapt your plans.
In this phase, if you are a doom scroller or an unfocused person, you will face demotivation where you may feel like quitting, but you shouldn’t—that is the most important point. Whatever happens, just try to execute slowly with a good mood. If it is ultimately impossible after working for several hours with no results, only then should you stop working on it.
Example: For cooking, you go outside and suddenly remember that today is Gandhi Jayanti. But you should not lose hope just because you cannot get chicken easily on that day. Here, you need to think cleverly. For example, you have your phone—you can call the chicken vendor and visit their house to get it, or you may ask someone who sells chicken quietly (again, I wouldn’t recommend it, but many people follow this pattern). So yeah, at last, after searching for chicken, if you don’t get it, you can postpone it to tomorrow, but you should never quit.
Phase 3: Work with Love & Joy #
In this phase, you need to work with love, stay focused, and enjoy the work. Here you will face difficulties, but if you are steady, highly focused, and try to work with joy, you will easily make it through.
Example: After bringing all the food items, if you realize you forgot one ingredient, it’s okay. Stay focused! Even if it gets hard to work, try listening to music. Make sure to check if you forgot anything else, list it on paper, and then execute the task. Try to enjoy it and look forward to the final output—knowing that you are going to make it and enjoy dinner.
Final Phase: Conceptualize & Reflect #
Here, the work will be complete, and you will get the final output. Make sure that this time you take notes and remember everything. Beyond just taking notes, you need to understand the patterns of how things work—summarizing and understanding conceptual details is important. Also, taking photos or videos for the first time creates a good memory, gives off a good vibe, and helps you do it faster next time.
Example: After cooking the chicken curry, you will understand what matters most while cooking—like washing and marinating the chicken before cooking, and keeping all vegetables nearby so you can cook faster. Maybe you have even better ideas and understanding of the concepts and patterns than me, so taking a picture or video will be a great memory.
💡 Tip: It’s better to stay completely focused on only one task at a time.
